Karla was born in Juarez, Mexico and was raised in Boulder, Colorado. She grew up in a large, loud, and food loving family. This provided her with an appreciation for Mexican food and its rich culture. After working in a variety of jobs in 2009 she decided to relocate to San Angelo, a small town in West Texas where she started her management and Event Planning career. After two years, she felt her heart was still in Colorado and realized it would have been a disservice not to bring her expertise to her hometown.
Karla enjoys working in hospitality. She relishes in the business aspect of it and the fact that every day can be different. “Agave provides me with the opportunity to combine my two passions; management and event planning. I can be creative and a leader to my team while sharing my beautiful culture with our guests, all at once,” said Karla when asked why she works at Agave. Karla could not see herself working at any other bistro since there are only a few places in the area that serve genuine Mexican food. She loves the environment and truly has a passion for what she does.
Karla builds moral, boosts staff retention, and believes in working as a team. She thrives to keep the Mexican culture rich through the warm service her staff provides to keeping the promise of the authentic taste of Mexico. Guest satisfaction is her number one priority.
